Kalyan Ghosh began his career with the Essar Group in 2005 at Essar Steel India. While there, he was Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management. Previously he worked at Tata Steel. A Technology graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University, Kalyan also holds a post graduate diploma in Management from All India Management Association and INSEAD. As well, Kalyan attended Wharton Business School, where he became qualified in Advanced Management.
PRAMOD KUMAR SHUKLA
Chief Operating Officer
Pramod Shukla joined Essar Steel Algoma in 2008 as Vice President Operations. In 2009 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer with accountability for the performance of all operating areas including central services, supply chain management and environment, safety and emergency services. Previously he served as Vice President of Projects & Operations at Essar Steel India and Head of various operating departments at Tata Steel.
In these progressive leadership roles he has successfully achieved significant improvements in safety, cost, service, and productivity. He has also implemented continuous improvement programs through transformation initiatives and business process re-engineering. Pramod has been the project lead on large expansion projects including the successful ramp-up of those facilities and the establishment of new business portfolios.
Pramod is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from IIT BHU, India and holds a post graduate diploma in Business Management from Xavier Labour Research Institute, Jamshedpur, India.
Pramod is a director on the Sault Area Hospital board and a member of the Board Audit Committee. He also serves as a Director with the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation board.
Chief Financial Officer
Rajat Marwah joined the Essar Group in 2008 as General Manager of Finance and Cost at Essar Steel Algoma with accountability for the credit, cost, budget, pricing, planning and financial accounting divisions within his portfolio. He was appointed Vice President Finance in July 2012. Rajat began his career with KPMG and subsequently entered the steel industry as Financial Controller with Arcelor Mittal, Czech Republic. He is a chartered accountant with international experience in Romania and India and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Sir Ram College of Commerce in Delhi. In his current role Rajat is charged with overall accountability for all finance functions.
Vice President, Human Resources
Jim Rennie graduated from York University's Schulich School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Organizational Behaviour and Industrial Relations. He also holds the designation of Certified Human Resources Professional with the Human Resources Professional Association. He started his career in Human Resources at Algoma Steel concentrating on Labour Relations. He then moved to the Pulp and Paper industry and held progressively more senior roles with E.B. Eddy Forest Products and Domtar, Inc concluding in the role of Director, Human Resources - Ontario.
Mr. Rennie returned to Algoma Steel in late 2002 and he has held a number of managerial positions within the Human Resources department. In August, 2010 he was promoted to Vice President, Human Resources with accountability to support Essar Steel Algoma's operations and commercial organizations through the integration of human resources strategies and programs with organizational objectives.
J. ROBERT SANDOVAL
General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Mr. Sandoval joined Essar Steel Algoma in November 2013. Prior to joining Essar he was a senior attorney for Caterpillar Inc. for 15 years holding various managing attorney and General Counsel positions around the world.
Mr. Sandoval was the managing attorney in Miami for Caterpillar interests in Latin America and the Caribbean and was managing attorney for a subsidiary in the oil and gas business in Belgium managing Europe, Africa and Middle East interests before accepting appointment to be General Counsel to the Caterpillar and Navistar joint venture in Chicago to sell on-highway trucks globally. Immediately prior to joining Essar, Mr. Sandoval was the General Counsel to the Caterpillar Tunneling business in Toronto Canada.
Mr. Sandoval earned his law degree (JD) from the University of Michigan and his undergraduate degree (BA) from Loyola University in Chicago.
