Erin Oliver, Vice President Health and Safety
Erin Oliver was appointed Vice President – Health and Safety in June 2024. Prior to joining Algoma Steel, Ms. Oliver amassed over 25 years of experience in the health and safety field across various industries. Most recently, Ms. Oliver spent 9 years in the construction sector serving as Vice President of Health, Safety and Sustainability. In this role, she developed and implemented a national health and safety program, grew the safety team and improved safety metrics. She also served as a member of the Ontario Prevention Council to the Minister of Labour. Erin also has been a professor at the University of Toronto and University of Guelph.
Erin is a Regulated Kinesiologist and a Canadian Registered Safety Professional. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Laurentian University and a post graduate diploma in Organizational Mental Health from Queen’s University. Her commitment to fostering a culture of safety, health and well-being aligns perfectly with Algoma Steel’s core values.
