SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario, March 8, 2023 – Algoma Steel Group Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTL; TSX: ASTL) (“Algoma”), a leading Canadian producer of hot and cold rolled steel sheet and plate products, announced today that it has appointed Danielle Baker, MIR, CHRL as Chief Human Resources Officer.

As a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) with a master’s degree in Industrial Relations from Queen’s University, Danielle brings more than twenty-five years of broad-based experience in labour and employee relations, people and culture strategy, organizational change, and health and safety to the role. Her most recent experience is in the transportation sector, as Chief Human Resources Officer for Ontario Northland.

Algoma’s Chief Executive Officer Michael D. Garcia remarked on the appointment, “Danielle joins Algoma at a critical stage in our transformation. Equipped with extensive training and expertise in the area of change management, with a demonstrated propensity to prioritize safety, risk mitigation, and equity and inclusion in her approach to organizational development, Danielle is well positioned to build the Algoma team for its next chapter as a sustainable producer of green steel.”
